Nowadays it’s easy to get overwhelmed by the various haircare products on the market. I often find that clients are misusing products, and since it’s my goal to make sure you’re all happy with your hair, it’s important to help you select the right products and use them correctly. This will save you time and money!
My favourite products are listed below. These are timeless products that I have learned to trust unquestionably!
Hair Care Products – Victoria’s Favourites
Redken CAT Treatment – This is the best and quickest treatment on the market. Good for all hair types! Since CAT is a protein intensive treatment, it is very important to use it properly, because too much protein can actually make your hair brittle. I generally recommend this treatment once a month, or as a fortifying treatment leading up to a colour service.
BC Bonacure Rescue Repair Sealed Ends – A must for anyone growing out their hair. It creates a protective, laminated film on the ends to help them slip through brushes and fingers. This film also guards against chafing your ends against clothing at the shoulders, which causes splitting and breaking upwards along the hair shaft; this is one of the main reasons some people cannot grow their hair past the shoulders. Since it’s applied only to the very tips of your hair, a tube will last for months.
Kerastase Oleo-Relax Serum/Oleo-Relax Anti-Humidity Spray – These two products are the very best on the market for creating a flawless flatiron. The serum is awesome just on its own in very coarse, curly, ‘horsehair’ types of thick hair. It helps the curl to move softly and naturally without any greasy feeling. The spray is the only product I’ve discovered that actually holds up in the rain!
Rene Furterer Tonucia (Entire Range) – This shampoo/conditioner/light mousse combo is the ultimate volumizing secret weapon for fine hair. I adore everything about it, and would recommend it to anyone who has limp or weak hair, as well as fine to medium wavy hair types who want more bounce and shine. They have a cumulative and semi-permanent texturizing effect on the hair, and must be used in a 6-months-on, 6-months-off rotation or your hair can become brittle. Tonucia products must all be used together, or they don’t work.
PureOlogy Real Curl – A heavier curl cream to define curl and create softess and shine. Great for daily styling and concentrated, so less is more with this product! You can always add more if you like lots of definition…it’ll give great hold without being crispy.
